An Acer macrophyllum – our local bigleaf maple tree – with its roots growing around a rock from the Fraser River's Herrling Island. A small bowl has been carved into the top of the trunk. I found this piece easy to name – the roots remind me of people doing Tai Chi. It stands 27 cm. high, and it's widest is 30 cm.
Thanks to the Eight Treasures Shop at the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden for selling this piece.
